The emergency department at Associated Veterinary Specialists is dedicated to delivering the highest quality of medical care for the benefit of our patients, their families, and veterinarians 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. Our emergency group is made up of a dedicated team of emergency doctors, licensed technician staff, and veterinary assistants. Our ER capabilities include emergency surgery, radiology, oxygen therapy, blood and blood product transfusions and the ability to run a variety of bloodwork in house. Our ER doctors work collaboratively with our board certified internal medicine and dental specialists to help better meet the needs of our patients. The most common emergency surgeries that we perform include bloat surgery, splenectomy, pyometra, foreign body removal, gastric dilatation and volvulus and laceration repair. Common emergencies seen at Associated Veterinary Specialists include trauma, vomiting/diarrhea, toxin ingestion, urinary obstructions, heart disease, respiratory distress, seizures, pain/lameness, reproductive emergencies and other concerns that owners feel need to be addressed on an emergent basis.
